Local Browser Storage

BrowseAI stores the following information locally in your browser:

• User preferences and settings (display themes, font size)
• API keys for LLM services (Gemini, etc.)
• Cached webpage summaries
• Browsing session data needed for AI interactions

This data is stored locally to provide a seamless experience, enable offline functionality, and eliminate the need to re-enter preferences or API keys each time you use the extension.

Cloud Storage

We use Firebase and Firestore to securely store:

• Authentication information
• Personal prompt collections
• Chat history with websites
• User account details

This cloud storage allows you to access your prompts and chat history across different devices and ensures your data isn't lost if you switch browsers or computers.

Data Security

All stored data is protected using industry-standard security practices. API keys and authentication information are encrypted before storage. Our Firebase and Firestore databases employ strict access controls and encryption protocols to safeguard your information.

Data Retention

Your locally stored data remains until you clear it through your browser. Cloud-stored data is retained as long as your account remains active. Inactive accounts may have data archived after 12 months of non-use.

User Control

You can manage locally stored data through the extension's settings page or your browser's extension management tools. For cloud-stored data, you can delete your stored data by using the delete button on the page’s UI or contact us to request complete data deletion.
